I know because I spent years hiding too. At sixty, I finally stopped looking away from my own life.
What followed became far more than a physical transformation. It became a journey of healing, forgiveness, faith, finding my voice, and discovering that the part of me I thought I had lost was still there.
Lorraine Hoving speaks to women about what happens when we stop allowing age, shame, fear, or the past to decide what comes next.
Through warmth, humor, vulnerability, faith, and the hard-earned wisdom of her own story, Lorraine invites women to ask a different question:

This isn’t a diet book. It’s a story about coming home.
Lorraine Hoving is an author, storyteller, and speaker whose 150-pound weight-loss journey became something far deeper: a journey of healing, forgiveness, faith, and finding again the little girl she had lost along the way. Through her writing and speaking, Lorraine encourages women in the second half of life to believe their story is not over and that it is never too late to come home to themselves.
A little more personally: Lorraine and her husband, Tim, celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2026. They have two children and now make their home in Arizona.
Lorraine’s background in image consulting also shaped her understanding of how the way we present ourselves can reflect the way we see ourselves.

Maybe she has been quiet for a long time. Maybe life taught her to hide, to be careful, to stop dreaming quite so loudly.
But she is still there.
And the sand is still moving.
There are still moments left to laugh, to speak, to love, to try, to begin again, to live with more freedom than you thought possible.
